Seneschal – New Policy from Corporate

Harassment and Bullying

The SCA prohibits harassment and bullying of all individuals and groups.

Harassment and bullying includes, but is not limited to the following: offensive or lewd verbal comments directed to an individual; the display of explicit images (drawn or photographic) depicting an individual in an inappropriate manner; photographing or recording individuals inappropriately to abuse or harass the individual; inappropriate physical contact; unwelcome sexual attention; or retaliation for reporting harassment and/or bullying.

Participants violating these rules are subject to appropriate sanctions. If an individual feels subjected to harassment, bullying or retaliation, they should contact a seneschal, President of the SCA, or the Kingdom’s Board Ombudsman. If a participant of the SCA becomes aware that someone is being harassed or bullied, they have a responsibility pursuant to the SCA Code of Conduct to come forward and report this behavior to a seneschal, President of the SCA or Kingdom’s Board Ombudsman.

The following statement must be posted at gate/troll at every SCA event in a size large enough for people to see it as they enter our events. This language must likewise be quoted in ALL site handouts at every event a site were a handout is made available.

Participants engaging in this behavior are subject to appropriate sanctions.

If you are subjected to harassment, bullying or retaliation, or if you become aware of anyone being harassed or bullied, contact a seneschal, President of the SCA, or your Kingdom’s Board Ombudsman.

1^st Quarter reports need to be re-done…done on wrong form
Profit of $198.86 for Artisan’s Village

Artisan’s Village follow-up

Don’t need to rent as much space next year
Feast was well received
Looking into renting a party tent next year and have it set up instead of all of the other smaller tents
Better signage
Water is potable, but not really drinkable
Need to look at all of our supplies and assess what is needed next year for feast equipment

Wrightstown Demo

Would like Heavy fighters and fencing melees
Judith will be joining us at Wrightstown as MoL to help and instruct Kimberly
Tara met with Ken
Tara will be presenting her play at Wrightstown as well as River Wars. If you are interested in helping let her know

Shire Wars

No checks have been received from the other groups
There will be fencing/heavy Inter-Kingdom “shenanigans”
Marshals are in place for fighting as well as MoL coverage
Baron Mael Eoin will be running feast and dayboard. Runners are needed for the food for Day Board.
Need help at troll
There will be Pilgrim beads again this year. Hartshorn-dale is taking care of it
Tokens are being made
Anyone that would like to demo or teach A&S are needed
Bardic will be up in the hall this year

Awards – Their Highnesses put a call out for recommendations for awards.

K & Q Rapier – Her highness has requested we put a bid in for this event

Barony progress – Ray talked to the Kingdom Polling officer and was instructed to get in touch with new groups officer. No response as of this meeting.

The next Shire meeting is August 17 at 7:30 pm at the Churchville Nature Center
