October 2023 Business Meeting

In attendance were the Seneschal, Deputy Seneschal, Baron and Baroness, Exchequer, Knight Marshal, Chatelaine, MoAS, Webminister, MoL, Herald, and members of the populace.
Officers’s Reports
Exchequer: Barony remains solvent (balance $4,820.48) and financial report has been filed with East Kingdom. Seed money is needed for the Baronial Champions event in October. (Seneschal agreed to provide the $250 for the entry gate till, to be reimbursed by check.)
(Exchequer also stated that according to kingdom law, quarterly financial reports need to be signed off on, and would be seeking the Seneschal for signoff. Additionally, in accordance with the recently proposed Baronial financial policies, Barony members should be proposing event ideas for 2024 so they could be on the annual budget. Events could be Artisan’s Village, Al-Hafla, or completely new ideas.)
Baron and Baroness: Nothing new to report. (Baron did say he reached out to a scribe for scrolls for the Baronial Heavy and Rattan Champions event.)
Webminister: Would like event calendar notices for the Baronial website calendar sent via email rather than posted on Facebook or sent via Messenger as she is not on FB often. Otherwise nothing new to report.
Knight Marshal: Fencing continues to be well attended, on first and third Tuesdays. Nothing new to report.
Seneschal: Has heard from the Society representative for getting event insurance for 12th Night. Form has been received, so payment ($150) will be submitted through PayPal.
(The Deputy Seneschal then reported on the Baronial polling. She expected to be able to print out the ballots and get them stuffed into envelopes and mailed off imminently.)
Deputy Seneschal: As event steward for East Kingdom 12th Night, she reported on the progress of the event. PayPal link was posted on the event listing on the East Kingdom website. Cooks were preparing menus.
