Our Heraldry
The Barony, as a landed group, has a name, device and badge registered with the SCA and East Kingdom Colleges of Heralds.
Each image has a blazon (the descriptive text) and an emblazon (the picture). The device is meant to represent the Barony, the badge is meant to represent things that belong to the Barony – its populace. (Taking it a step further to an individual, your device represents you, your badge represents your stuff.)
The Barony of Buckland Cross device is emblazoned as
The accompanying device blazon is Argent, two bucks counter-salient in saltire proper within a laurel wreath vert, a bordure embattled sable.
The Barony of Buckland Cross badge is emblazoned as
The accompanying badge blazon is Argent, a massacre within a bordure embattled sable.
Our SCA Ordinary and Armorial record can be found on this page. Approvals were granted to the then Shire of Buckland Cross.
