We are proud to again co-sponsor Shire Wars, this year a Royal Progress event.
We are pleased to announce that Shire Wars (live) has been expanded to a three-day event with camping, October 15-17. We return with an event inspired by the Battle of Kulikova (September 8, 1380) between the Mongol Golden Horde and the Russian princes led by Prince Dmitry of Moscow. Attendees get to choose to be Russian or Mongol, with points for various activities, when they register, and they will be given a special commemorative site token, indicating Rus or Mongol affiliation, at Troll.

Yes that’s right it’s a BBBBBBQ!
Join us for a backyard party to celebrate Kirsten’s (Sigridh’s) Birthday. We will supply the dogs and burgers, but we ask everyone to bring something to share such as a salad, veggie, chips, a favorite beverage, etc. …
I will be setting up the period medieval game of Lawn Billards for everyone to try, and I will also have a couple dozen target archery bows in various poundage on display for sale.
All the proceeds from the sale will go to the Barony of Buckland Cross.

Join Yasamin al-Sardaniyya (Better known as Jaz) on April 30 for a Medieval Hood workshop.
This will be less lecture and more hands on.
• Tracing paper (I recommend freezer or butchers paper)
• Writing implements: A sharpie for tracing to your paper and a pencil or something to mark your fabric
• Tape measure
• Scissors
• If you have a yardstick/Tsquare, that could be helpful as well.
If time allows, or you are so bold to pattern straight to fabric – you may want to have:
• 1 yd of washed and pressed Muslin/Mock up fabric for each type of hood you want to work on. (Old sheets are great for this)
• Pins for fitting (I suggest safety/basting pins so they don’t fall out of your mock up on the way home)
